A Note to the Neighbours

Dear Tina D. B.,

Thanks for letting us use your wireless all weekend. Without you and Wikipedia, at least three arguments would have gone on much longer than necessary.

What three arguments?

There were a couple about the pronunciation of different words (comely and Reading, as in the town in PA and the railroad company). One was about the difference in chow mein and lo mein (one has crispy noodles, the other has soft). One was whether or not "sporange" is actually a word that rhymes with orange (still on the fence about this one). I think there was another, but I can't remember what it was.

My neighbors have the nerve to turn off their router when they leave for the weekend. Who do they think they are leaving me net-less like that?

Who didn't know the difference between chow mein and lo mein?

The question was brought up by one of Ruth's uncles, who had been told by the proprietor of some take-out Chinese place or another that chow mein has only vegetables and no noodles, and who thought this definition was shaky.

However, I can't recall ever having had chow mein, so I did not know either.
