How the Locals are Like Children and Todd is Like Bill Cosby

It was 10pm , and we were standing in the lobby of a theater, having just finished a long movie (Babel, which was enjoyed by all). People were hungry, and in need of a place to sit and talk.

"Too bad this is Southern California," I said, "And there are no diners for hundreds of miles. This is diner-time."

"Oh, we have diners," said a life-long resident.

"Really? I haven't seen any."

"Yeah, we have Denny's, and ..."

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what she was going to say next, because I laughed in her face. This has happened several times since we moved here, and I feel bad every time, but Southern Californians say the darnedest things.

You know Theo- when you eat the Jello pudding with the Kodak film, you enjoy the House of Cosby.

Don't act like you're above eating a Moon Over Myhammy every now and then.

Damn! I should have known that Keith would expose me. Only he really knows the depths to which a man will sink while on break in Kernersville.

I don't know, though. Once you've acclimated to the profusion of places slinging good short order food in the Northeast, it's sort of hard to go back to the Grand Slam.

To your credit, the grand slam isn't nearly as Denny-ish as the MoM. There's no shame in having some pancakes.

Except for how the ones at Denny's are the blandest, most lame pancakes ever, and how they come smothered in gross "sauce" instead of fresh fruit.
